ANTIVENIN SAVES A LITTLE GIRL
“[Alison’s parents] knew that a life flight provided by Samaritan Aviation was the only option to save their daughter’s life!“
It was a typical Tuesday afternoon, with Nick and Lorraine Mosca engaged in language training with Chris and Sarah Cooke on the Samaritan base. Then an emergency call came in: a seven-year old girl named Alison had been bitten by a snake while collecting wild mushrooms in her village. Venomous snakebites are time sensitive, and with her village five-hours away by road her parents had called knowing that a life flight provided by Samaritan Aviation was the only option to save their daughter’s life!
Chris and Nick rushed out the door with the antivenin in hand. They met Luke Hamer at the airport hangar where he was waiting by the floatplane, ready to fly. They landed at the remote village within an hour of getting the call. Chris quickly assessed Alison, injected the antivenin, and Alison and her father, Hela, were flown to the hospital.
Alison has made a full recovery and her life was forever changed! Chris and Nick were able to visit and pray with Alison and Hela in the hospital. Several days later, while our families were out on a walk, they ran into Alison and her father after she was discharged from the hospital. Before they left to return to their village, Hela wanted to thank us once again for saving his daughter’s life. We want to extend his “thanks” to you as well. Without your prayers and support, Alison would not be alive, nor would she have heard about God’s love.
