FIRST FLIGHT TO WOWOBO

Bringing Hope to a Remote Village

By: Mark Palm, Founder and CEO

I just got back from Papua New Guinea, where we flew to a village called Wowobo, a place so remote, many of the people there had never seen an airplane before. As we touched down in our floatplane, we were greeted with a hospitable welcome as kids ran to the shoreline and others came forward to shake our hands and give us flowers.

In this region, we’re grateful for the ability to partner with nurses from Gulf Christian Services. As we flew in, they were ready to provide care and encouragement on the ground, and I continue to be impressed by the work they are doing in communities like Wowobo.

In regions with no roads, no hospitals, and no quick way out, the presence of compassionate nurses often means the difference between life and death. I’m excited for the ways we are now able to partner and take this lifesaving work even farther.

Samaritan Aviation has been flying in Papua New Guinea for 15 years now, and it never gets old. Jungle rivers, sudden storms, last-minute rescues. It’s the kind of mission work that keeps your faith sharp. We rely on generous donors to continue offering these services for free. Every flight is backed by people like you who say, “Yes, I want to be part of something bigger.”

That’s why we launched Compassion Crew, our community of monthly givers. Compassion Crew is all about timing. The timeliness of your monthly gift allows us to respond immediately for these communities. At $19 a month, you’re helping fuel medevac rescues, vaccine drops, and reaching many villages with the Gospel for the first time.

If you’ve ever wanted your giving to go somewhere…this is it.
