Kazu and Naomi, along with their children River and Bear, are an intercultural family seeking God’s heart for those living in isolation. Kazu was pursuing a theological degree in Belgium when he met Naomi, who was working as a general practitioner. As they discerned their future together, they felt a growing pull toward medical mission aviation.
During Kazu’s commercial pilot training, he came across a Samaritan Aviation video of a patient giving birth aboard one of their floatplanes. He immediately sent it to Naomi, who was then serving as an assistant pediatrician. The story resonated deeply with both of them. Through a series of providential connections, including meeting the Snader family at a missionary retreat in Australia, they began taking steps toward joining Samaritan Aviation.
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? – Rom 10:14
