In partnership with the Digicel Foundation of Papua New Guinea and instructors from the East Sepik College of Nursing, we recently launched a program that combined Samaritan Aviation’s unique 40-hour Emergency Obstetric Care refresher course with the discipleship training course, Healing the Wounds of Trauma. The program was attended by 22 dedicated nursing officers from rural health centers. Each of these nursing officers work in difficult or suboptimal conditions, and often lack the basic medical equipment they need. This comprehensive program was designed to help meet their professional, emotional, and spiritual needs.
One of the incredible people who attended this training is Nursing Officer Clinton Sipora. Clinton is a believer who has served the people of Hauna and surrounding remote river villages for over ten years.
A dedicated health worker, Clinton was an enthusiastic trainee with a bright personality. We were pleased to hear that he plans to return to school for midwife training! This is a much-needed skill for this part of the East Sepik Province.
We can’t wait to see how the Lord will continue to use Clinton’s passion for serving the people of Papua New Guinea and to glorify Christ! It is a privilege for us to partner with and assist these nursing officers with their hard work at the rural health centers along the Sepik river.
