Faith First, Miracles Later

May 13, 2025

Sometimes, faith calls for believing before seeing.

Over twenty years ago, a young couple took a leap of faith. They raised enough money to buy a floatplane, packed it in a shipping container, and followed it to the remote jungles of Papua New Guinea. There, they rebuilt it, took to the skies, and began flying life-saving missions—all so they could share the love of Jesus Christ.

Samaritan Aviation was born from that faith, and I’ve seen its miracles firsthand.

Just a year ago, I began working with Mark on a floating dock project near Kapuna Hospital. The river’s shifting tides, lack of power tools, and logistical nightmares made it daunting. But Mark’s response was simple: “If it was easy, someone else would’ve already done it.”

After months of preparation, delays hit. Our container of supplies didn’t arrive, forcing us to reschedule—twice. When it finally reached Papua New Guinea, we learned we had to build at a new location, requiring materials we hadn’t packed. One crucial piece was missing: a twelve-foot-long, 4-inch, schedule 80 galvanized pipe. And you don’t just find that lying around in the jungle.

I was worried. As I sat at LAX waiting to board, a woman asked to use my charger. Her iPad wouldn’t charge, so we briefly chatted. Hours later, after two flights, I “coincidentally” ran into her again. She introduced me to her husband, Tony—a marine engineer overseeing 1,300 workers in Papua New Guinea. When I explained my dilemma, he smiled. “I think we can help.”

The next day, at his worksite, I looked down and saw it—a stack of the exact pipe I needed, twelve feet long. Tony handed it over, free of charge. “Sounds like you guys are doing something really good.”

God used a faulty charger in an airport to orchestrate a miracle. And I saw Him show up in the most unexpected way.

What faithful next step is God calling you toward today? I’m here to tell you—you can trust Him with it.
